Sogetec  041/10 PM

Product description

Sogetec 041/10 is a water based impregnating agent with kationic character for the permanent hydrophobation (water repellent) and oleophobation (oil repellent) of textiles. Sogetec 041/10 is made by means of the sol-gel-technique. The nano particles create a transparent, very thin but gapless coating around each fibre of the fabric to which they are applied. Due to the small size of the particles a total penetration even through tight textile structures is possible. A high heat and hydrolysis resistance is achieved due to the water and oil repellence. This reduces unwanted water absorption and soiling of textile conveyor belts enormously.

Application

Textiles and similar surfaces used as papermachine clothing for the paper production

Solubility:

Can be diluted with any proportion of water

Storage:

Sensitive to frost – do not store under 2°C;
durability: 6 months (according to prior experience)

Direction for use

Shake before use. We advise you to apply Sogetec 047 with commonly used textile coating systems or immersion methods. When spraying the impregnating liquor to the fabrics there should be sufficient ventilation. The aerosols mustn’t be inhaled. High-speed stirring can destroy the dispersion and should be avoided. The pH- factor of the ready liquor should be slightly acidic (pH 5,5 - 6,5). Directly after the impregnation the active components begin to form polymers on every single fibre and turn into an even wet coating on the substrate surface. During the subsequent thermal drying process (at least 130°C for 3 minutes) the applied chemicals form a network and turn into the already described permanent coating. Its stability can be increased if a chemical bondage between the coating and the fibre-building polymers is possible.

Before applying Sogetec 041/10 to items, these should be thoroughly washed in order to remove any additives or textile-finishing agents (for example wetting and slip agents) for these substances can influence the adhesion and the regularity of the nano particle coating.

Sogetec 047 is a water based impregnating agent with anionic character for the permanent hydrophobation (water repellent) and oleophobation (oil repellent) of textiles. Sogetec 047 is fabricated by means of the sol-gel-technique. The nano particles create a transparent, very thin but gapless coating around each fibre of the fabric to which they are applied. Due to the smallness of the particles a total penetration even through tight textile structures is possible. The washing permanent hydrophobation and oleophobation effectively reduces the absorption of water and distinctly facilitates the cleaning of textiles stained by substances containing acids or sugar, such as coffee, ketchup, lemonade and coke and also of textiles smeared with oily and fatty products such as mayonnaise and olive oil.

Textiles and similar surfaces ranging from clothing (men’s, ladies’ and children’s wear, work clothes), home textiles (upholstery, curtains, tablecloths) to technical textiles (automobile interior decoration).
